IMM Group’s founder, Mr. Tran Van Tinh (Tony Tinh), was born and grew up in the riverside area of Cai Von, Binh Minh district, Vinh Long province.
His parents were initially poor farmers without schooling, and they had to experience the chaotic wartime. They earned a living by working as hired low-skilled labor, then farming, and finally making tofu. In 1989, his father had an accident leaving him a person with paraplegia since then. Therefore, at the age of 9, Mr. Tinh began earning money to help his family in various ways, such as selling lottery tickets, making tofu, raising pigs, etc. His childhood was just days of working hard from early dawn till late at night.
Working hard but still trying to study, he and his two brothers could finish high school. In 2000, he came to Saigon for university studies. However, he spent a lot of time doing part-time jobs. First, he delivered newspapers. Later, he worked as a waiter and then a tutor. Aged 19, he took up a full-time job as an office worker. Besides, he taught himself computer science as well as programming. He started up a company twice in the industry of information technology but failed.
In 2004, Mr. Tinh had a chance to provide services of setting up a representative office in Vietnam to Mr. William (Bill) Gadd, who is from Canada. Everything went smoothly, and they became friends. At the time, Canada had presented the Quebec Immigrant Investor program. Finding immigration consulting services had not been supplied in Vietnam yet, Mr. Tinh and Mr. Gadd decided to cooperate in setting up a company specializing in Canada immigration consulting services.
In 2005, Mr. Tinh separated to start his own company, Immigration Co., Ltd. The company has gradually developed into IMM Group today with many subsidiaries. IMM’s brand name, the acronym of the first company’s name, is kept as a memento of IMM Group’s starting-up.

WHY DID WE CHOOSE THIS FIELD OF BUSINESS?
The story of IMM Group’s founder emphasizes our belief to choose this field of business. Although Tony Tinh came from a humble background and a country that is still struggling to reduce poverty rate, he believes that Vietnamese people are not inferior as some racist views suppose. THE PROCESS OF DEVELOPMENT FROM 2005 TO THE CURRENT TIME
In the beginning, Immigration Co., Ltd had only one employee who was the founder! Its office was located right in Mr. Tinh’s rented room for students. The company supplied consulting services about the Canada immigrant investor programs.
Throughout more than a decade of development, IMM Group grew from a small alley office to a street-facing presence, with the office space continuously expanding with each relocation. By 2016, the IMM Group Tower in Ho Chi Minh City was inaugurated, covering an area of over 1,500m². The firm also established offices in Hanoi, Australia, and the United States. The staff size has since grown to 130. The scope of operations has also broadened significantly, encompassing US, Australian, and European investment migration programs; US and Australian real estate; US and Australian investment funds; foreign investment consulting into Vietnam, tourism, and study abroad services, among others. To date, IMM Group has consulted over 600 investors, managing and advising on a total capital of approximately 371 million US dollars.

IMM Group was recertified as the official representative of the country's citizenship-by-investment program in 2023 by The government of Saint Kitts.
As prescribed by the Government of some countries like Saint Kitts and Grenada, only companies with Governmental licenses are allowed to market and promote the citizenship by investment program to customers
Those that are unlicensed consulting companies need to function as sub-agents of the licensed ones and are not allowed to process applications directly.
Many international companies have already had this license. But in Vietnam, after being licensed by the Government of Saint Kitts in 2021, IMM Group continues to be recertified as the official representative of the country's citizenship-by-investment program in 2022 by The government of Saint Kitts.
In order to get certified, IMM must satisfy many conditions in terms of law, finance, human resources, credibility, experience, transparency, honesty, method of application appraisal, etc. in accordance with the standards prescribed by the Government and this has been painstakingly assessed by the Government of Grenada.

IMM Group – The one and only Vietnamese Company to be licensed by the Government of Dominica
Dominica requires licensed consultants to promote the Dominican citizenship by investment program. Unlicensed companies can only act as sub-agents and cannot directly process customer profiles.
IMM Group has undergone a one-year due diligence process. The Government of Dominica conducts investigations into all aspects of the license applicant. From the background, reputation, to the way of doing business, advertising ... is reliable. The amount of documents to be submitted is up to hundreds of pages. License issued by the Prime Minister of Dominica himself. IMM Group has passed this entire rigorous review process by fully complying with legal, financial, transparent and honest conditions and having a professional application review team.
In October 2022, IMM Group was officially licensed to advise and promote the investment program for Dominica citizenship. The majority of licensed companies are located in Dubai, Hong Kong, Europe and the US. IMM Group is currently the first and only licensed Vietnamese representative.

Hello Mr. Tuấn Anh. First and foremost, congratulations to you and the consulting and case processing team at IMM Group for successfully becoming the sole representatives of Vietnam certified by the Investment Migration Council (IMC). Could you please tell us what the IMC organization is and the significance of this certification?
Alex Trần:
The Investment Migration Council (IMC) is a global organization in the field of citizenship by investment. The Council was established by leading experts to bring together the best practitioners in this sector and provide a voice for the industry. The IMC sets global standards and liaises with other professional associations related to investment migration.
In 2019, IMM Group was the only Vietnamese entity to meet the Council’s requirements regarding the Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct in the consulting field. IMM is included in the list of the organization's official members.
And currently, IMM Group is also the first and only entity in Vietnam whose consulting and case processing staff have achieved professional competency certificates from this international organization.
Achieving these standards at the individual employee level helps guarantee the quality and expertise of IMM specialists. This is crucial because these are the very people who will assist clients in preparing their family applications. As a result, clients have international validation to feel secure in choosing IMM Group to support their investment and second citizenship plans.
RP:
Specifically, what professional competencies are required to achieve this certification?
Alex Tran:
To be granted certification, each specialist at IMM Group must complete a 6-month international training program provided by the IMC and must pass the final quality assurance examination.

RP:
Over the past 10 years overseeing applications for Vietnamese investors, what are the most common difficult questions or challenging situations you have consistently faced?
Alex Tran:
Firstly, every client has a very specific and unique background. Government laws are consistent, but in reality, when preparing an application, there are many critical issues that must be firmly grasped before making an investment decision. If done incorrectly, by choosing shortcuts, following rumors, or violating laws, the risk of application rejection, resulting in a loss of money and trouble, is very high. Some examples include authenticating Vietnamese documents for overseas submission, proving the source of funds, selecting a secure project, and addressing sensitive aspects within the investor’s application itself.
There are many approaches and attractive project offers, but investors must clearly understand and precisely comply with government regulations to ensure a successful outcome and avoid the unfortunate risk of rejection.
Secondly, besides the primary goal of investment for citizenship, there are subsequent issues that arise, such as **taxation** after obtaining citizenship, **business establishment**, and cases where the Government requests clarification on documents after submission. This is a long journey, and IMM's main job is to help investors reduce many of these burdens throughout the application process and later when settling abroad.
RP:
So, when encountering such situations, what is your secret to confidently helping clients invest safely, successfully, and achieve their goals?
Alex Tran:
The IMM Group team and I always uphold the belief that professional consultants must:
- - Only advise on what we clearly and accurately understand.
- - Never advise outside our knowledge or capability.
- - Avoid guesswork, assumptions, or mere speculation.
- - If unfamiliar with a certain area, be straightforward and collaborate with professional entities (**Lawyers**, **Tax Specialists**, **Financial Experts** from reputable corporations) to advise the safest path for the investor.
RP:
What is your advice for Vietnamese investors?
Alex Tran:
Investing for a second citizenship or permanent residency is becoming a global trend. This not only opens up economic development opportunities for countries with programs (investment migration) but also helps investors and their families gain long-term residency and even citizenship in developed countries, along with the privileges of global citizens and the freedom of movement within common areas like the EU/Schengen. However, opening up opportunities for investors also entails certain risks for the participating countries themselves. Therefore, governments consistently implement comprehensive measures and require investors to strictly comply with Customer Due Diligence (**KYC/CDD/EDD**) processes.
At IMM Group, we have applied strict due diligence procedures for many years. Through professional training courses like the ones mentioned above, IMM Group further understands the importance of application vetting and risk assessment for investors right from the start. - Refuse to cooperate with a partner whose products brought back to Vietnam lack legitimacy, have dishonest information, or carry potential risks for customers.
