    • The Malta Permanent Residence Programme (MPRP) is a Government of Malta program that grants permanent residence in Malta.
    • It is open to non-EU, non-EEA, and non-Swiss nationals and their families who make a qualifying investment.

Malta Permanent Residence Programme requirements

  • Investment requirement

    • Purchase a qualifying property for at least €375,000, or
    • Lease a qualifying property for at least €14,000 per year.
    • Hold the property or lease for at least 5 years.
  • Required contributions

    • Government contribution (non-refundable): €37,000 (approximately US$42,000).
    • Administrative fee: €60,000 (approximately US$68,000).
    • Donation to a registered charity or NGO in Malta: €2,000 (approximately US$2,300).
    • Each dependent over 18 other than the spouse: €7,500 per person (approximately US$8,500).
  • Proof of assets

    • Capital assets of at least €500,000 (approximately US$570,000), of which €150,000 (approximately US$171,000) must be financial assets, or
    • Capital assets of at least €650,000 (approximately US$741,000), of which €75,000 (approximately US$85,000) must be financial assets.
  • Requirements for the main applicant and dependents

    • The main applicant must be at least 18, with no upper age limit.
    • Pass security background checks and medical checks.
    • Proof of a lawful source of funds.
    • Dependents must be financially dependent on the main applicant.
    • All family members must hold health insurance for 5 years.
