BC PNP entrepreneur requirements

You are a business owner or senior manager
- At least 3 years of experience as an active business owner-manager with at least 10% ownership within the past 10 years, or at least 4 years of experience as a senior manager within the past 10 years.
- Personal net worth of at least C$600,000.
- At least 1 year of post-secondary education, or experience owning and operating a business with 100% ownership, as set out in the program requirements.
- English or French at Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 4, roughly equivalent to IELTS General Training 4.0.
- Satisfactory security, background and medical checks.

- Invest at least C$200,000 in a business in BC.
- Start a new eligible business or acquire an existing one.
- Present a viable business plan that delivers economic benefits to the province.
- Actively manage the business in BC yourself.
- Create at least 1 full-time job for a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.

Eligibility assessment and application preparation
We assess your eligibility, assets, management experience, English proficiency and overall fit with the program.

Exploratory visit to British Columbia
You make an exploratory visit to BC to assess the business environment, the market and investment opportunities in the province.

Submit your registration (EOI)
You register online for BC PNP Entrepreneur Immigration by submitting an expression of interest (EOI).

Receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) and submit your application
Once you are invited to apply, you submit your complete application to the province.

Provincial interview
You attend an interview with the BC PNP if requested.

Sign the performance agreement and apply for a work permit
Once your application is approved, you sign a performance agreement with the province and apply for a work permit.

Move to Canada to invest and run your business
You receive your work permit, move to BC, make your investment, run the business and fulfill your commitments to the province.

Submit your final report and request provincial nomination
Once you have met the investment, business operation and residency requirements, you submit your final report to request provincial nomination.
