The IMM Team Building 2017, an annual event to strengthen the team spirit of IMM’s staff, was held at Saigon Outcast. Compared with the Team Building 2016, the number of participants this year was nearly doubled, which revealed the significant growth of IMM Group. Representatives from IMM Group’s partners such as Eighth Bridge Capital, the US; Leptos Estates, Cyprus; and Belle Property International, Australia also participated in this challenge.
IMM Group: Team Building 2017 was held by Dare Vietnam (the organization which runs the IRONMAN Vietnam). All the games and activities in this event were designed not only to promote the team spirit, but also to require each individual’s effort to overcome their self-limits in the aspects of physical strength, ingenuity, concentration, and never-give-up spirit.
On the morning of May 13th 2017, over 60 members of IMM Group (including Hanoi office and Ho Chi Minh Office) and partners arrived at Saigon Outcast. All the participants were divided into 6 teams, each team consisted of 11 people.
6 teams had to go through 3 challenges including Finding the treasure, Bounce Ball, and Climbing.
For the ‘Findind the treasure’, each member took turns diving into a frozen pool to find 10 colored balls mixed with 100 white balls. The team finding the most colored balls was the winner. This 45-minute challenge required the team spirit and the determination. Each participant diving into the frozen pool tried to find as many colored balls as possible. After being in the icy water for a while, when their body couldn’t stand the freeze anymore, another participant would take their turn.
After the first 20 minutes, the participants started to be overwhelmed by the numbness and aches caused by the cold ice. It was time for encouragement and support among the team to overcome this challenge. Team number 2 was the typical example of the wonderful team spirit and ‘never give up’ spirit with the leadership of Mr. Trần Lâm Bình – CEO of IMM Business Travel. Although there were many female members of the team, team number 2 had so good a performance. The most contributed member for the victory of this team was the ‘heroine’ Bảo Trân who had fought with a great determination and found 14 colored balls in spite of getting frostbite.
For the ‘Bounce Ball’, each participant had to wear a giant plastic ball around their body and try to knock the rival off the competing stage. The game required not only physical strength, determined spirit, but also a very strong team spirit. Every team must find out the proper tactics to balance the attacking and defending, which was to beat the rival off the stage and to keep their teammates protected. Any member separated from the team would become the target to be knocked off the stage. The ‘idol’ of this challenge is Mr. Nguyễn Hải Anh, the captain of team number 6. After all of his teammates were eliminated, he was alone playing against three opponents. With his unbreakable spirit and determination, he fought resiliently every attack from the rivals until the end.
For the ‘Climbing’, members of each team tried to climb up the artificial cliffs. The result was counted as two criteria including speed and quantity. This challenge required the ingenuity of each member and the team tactics to make the best use of 45 minutes and get the highest result. Each member had to face the fear of heights, the fear to let go off the cliff and to be dangled in the air. Not to mention, they also had to face the tiredness and the tense of muscles in their arms and legs. Through this challenge, IMM has discovered the male ‘Tarzan’, Mr. Su and the female ‘Tarzan’, Ms. Hana who had the excellent climbing skill.
In addition to the above challenges, the highlight of Team Building 2017 was the freestyle dancing. This was also the chance for the ‘talents’ at IMM to show off their ability. The particular performances included the sexy dance of Mr. Trần Lâm Bình and Mr. Hùng, the shuffle dance of Ms. Trúc Anh and Ms. Sussan, Gangnam style dance of Mr. Duy, and the martial arts performance of Mr. John Wong. The most impressive performance was the group dance of all IMM members. At that moment, all limits were blurred, there was no BOD, leaders, or staff. The only thing left was the redness of the uniforms and the only title was the ‘members of IMM Group’. Together, everyone shared the joy and pride of conquering the challenges and overcoming themselves.
