Home to some of the world’s most beautiful beaches, the Caribbean keeps attracting renowned resort brands, and the roster of luxury hotel brands in the Caribbean continues to grow.

With some of the world’s most beautiful beaches and unspoiled natural scenery, the Caribbean has become a magnet for luxury hotel brands from around the world.

Often described as a gateway to the tropics, the Caribbean offers pristine natural surroundings and the easy, relaxed pace of island life. Alongside this natural beauty, a growing roster of luxury hotel and resort brands has converged on the region, delivering some of the world’s finest hospitality and confirming the Caribbean’s standing as a true resort destination. Below, we look at several of the most prestigious hotel names now present in Caribbean nations.

Luxury hotel brands in the Caribbean

Park Hyatt: a benchmark of luxury hospitality worldwide

Park Hyatt is the most upscale brand of Hyatt Hotels Corporation, the U.S.-based hospitality company with more than 60 years of history. It belongs to the group’s Timeless Collection and is regarded as the pinnacle of luxury within Hyatt’s brand portfolio.

First launched in Chicago in 1980, Park Hyatt had 45 hotels in 25 countries at the time of writing, located in some of the world’s most sought-after destinations, including New York, Paris, Sydney, and the Maldives. The brand is built around a philosophy of personalized guest experiences: every detail is thoughtfully refined so that stepping into a Park Hyatt room feels warm and familiar, like coming home, while meeting the most exacting expectations of discerning guests.

Park Hyatt is synonymous with understated, artful luxury. Because ideas of luxury vary from place to place and are shaped by local culture, every Park Hyatt, whether in a historic city, a glamorous capital, or a secluded resort destination, is elegant and one of a kind, reflecting the spirit and culture of its location and connecting guests with authentic experiences. These same principles guided the brand’s choice of site for the Park Hyatt St. Kitts resort in St. Kitts & Nevis, an island nation in the Caribbean.

Park Hyatt St. Kitts sits on picturesque Banana Bay within Christophe Harbour, a 2,500-acre resort community. Drawing inspiration from local culture, art, cuisine, and nature, the resort offers a strong sense of place and an exceptional experience for its guests. Since opening in late 2017, it has become a familiar destination for visitors to St. Kitts and the wider Caribbean. The resort has received numerous international awards and wide media coverage: CNN ranked it first among the best new hotels in the Caribbean, and Condé Nast Traveler included Park Hyatt St. Kitts on its 2018 Hot List of the world’s best new hotels.

InterContinental and Six Senses: IHG’s luxury footprint in the Caribbean

InterContinental Hotels & Resorts and Six Senses are two luxury brands of the UK-based InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), one of the five largest hotel groups in the world. Over more than 70 years, InterContinental has become a byword for luxury, prestige, and high service standards in global hospitality. With a network of more than 200 hotels across the world’s continents, the brand offers authentic travel and discovery experiences in gateway destinations worldwide and has long been a pioneer of the luxury travel segment.

In the Caribbean, IHG chose Grenada, an island nation in the Eastern Caribbean known for its pristine, lush landscapes, as the site for 2 luxury resorts, InterContinental Grenada Resort and Six Senses La Sagesse, further extending the group’s presence on the global luxury resort map.

Although it is one of the longest-established names in luxury hospitality, InterContinental continues to lead in creating refined, immersive experiences for today’s travelers. The brand has also been named World’s Leading Hotel Brand at the World Travel Awards for 8 consecutive years. InterContinental Grenada Resort is the brand’s newest 5-star resort project in the Caribbean. Set on scenic La Sagesse Beach next to its sister property, Six Senses La Sagesse, the 5-star resort is scheduled to open and begin operations in late 2026 once complete.

Six Senses was voted the world’s top hotel brand by Travel + Leisure readers for 3 consecutive years (2017–2019). The brand is known for luxury resort travel that combines wellness and sustainability. As its name suggests, Six Senses aims to take guests beyond the destination and awaken their senses to new experiences through deeper connection with themselves, with others, and with the world around them. Six Senses La Sagesse was designed with this same purpose in mind. Set on a prime stretch of the island’s south coast between the ocean and a bay, the resort blends into the natural landscape, opening onto sweeping turquoise sea views and immersing guests in the vibrant, colorful Caribbean while preserving privacy and elegance. The resort officially opened in April 2024, marking the Six Senses brand’s debut in the Americas.

Second citizenship and global mobility through investment in branded Caribbean resorts

Often called a tourism paradise, the Caribbean combines spectacular beaches with high-end resorts from globally recognized brands. Resort and holiday property in the region is therefore widely viewed as a resilient asset with long-term income potential, and interest in obtaining Caribbean citizenship through investment in shares of approved resort projects has grown steadily in recent years. Among Caribbean nations, Grenada is often regarded as offering a particularly attractive citizenship program, with an investment level that is well balanced against the benefits it extends to the investor’s eligible family members.

Most investors who pursue Caribbean citizenship, and Grenada citizenship in particular, do so first and foremost for ease of travel. Grenada citizenship provides visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to 147 destinations, including the Schengen Area countries (such as Germany, Italy, France, and Finland) and the United Kingdom. Citizens can also stay in the Schengen Area for up to 90 days within any 180-day period.

It is also increasingly common for permanent residents of the U.S., Australia, and Canada to add a second citizenship with broad global mobility, such as Grenada citizenship. Rather than waiting many years to become eligible for naturalization, investors who hold both permanent residence and a second citizenship can enjoy the freedom and flexibility of global travel much sooner. This not only makes it easier to explore the world but also opens doors to travel, business, and investment opportunities worldwide. Investors also hold a real estate interest abroad and may receive returns once the project is leased out or open and operating.
