PEI business immigration: a pathway to Canadian permanent residence for your whole family
Prince Edward Island (PEI) is a peaceful, fertile island with a temperate climate and a growing economy. Many investors choose the PEI program because its selection criteria are among the simplest of any comparable program in Canada. To qualify, you must be a business owner or senior manager with at least 3 years of experience in the past 5 years. You also need a personal net worth of at least C$600,000 and must invest at least C$150,000 to establish and operate a company in PEI. The language requirement is basic English (IELTS 4.0). There are no requirements regarding industry sector, job creation, or minimum revenue. The exploratory visit and interview are conducted online.
Your family can live in PEI and, subject to eligibility, work and study there, with access to high-quality healthcare and education. After operating your business in PEI for 12 months and meeting the conditions below, you may request a provincial nomination and, if nominated, apply for permanent residence (PR) together with your family:
- The business must incur at least C$75,000 in eligible operating expenses.
- You and your family must live in Prince Edward Island for at least 274 days per year. A dependent child over 18 who is attending a post-secondary institution outside PEI is not required to meet this condition.
