France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Singapore, and Spain share the top spot in the Henley Passport Index 2024, giving them the world’s most powerful passports.
The Henley Passport Index, a widely cited global passport ranking, has recently released its annual ranking. It rates each country’s or territory’s passport by the number of countries and territories its holders can access without a prior visa.

The most powerful passports in 2024
This year, 6 countries share first place in the ranking — 2 in Asia and 4 in Europe: France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Singapore, and Spain. Citizens of these countries can visit 194 of the world’s 227 destinations without a visa or with a visa on arrival. These passports greatly expand their holders’ opportunities for international travel and connections. Notably, Japan has held the top spot for 6 consecutive years.

A second passport for global mobility and freedom to do business
In today’s globalized economy, successful entrepreneurs with the means to do so can enjoy the same global mobility as high achievers anywhere in the world. That mobility opens up opportunities across borders — from easier international travel and business expansion to high-quality education, healthcare, and social welfare for their families.
This freedom can be achieved through residence rights in another country or a strong passport from a second country. Governments in the United States, Australia, Canada, Europe, and the Caribbean offer a range of immigration programs designed to attract people from other countries who can contribute resources to build and develop their economies. In return, eligible applicants may be granted permanent residence or citizenship, giving investors and their families greater privileges and freedom.
To invest prudently and successfully, investors need to understand and comply precisely with each program’s rules as set by the respective government. Working with a reputable advisory firm, an experienced case management team, and qualified immigration attorneys can help investors maximize their chances of success and identify the right pathway to meet the program’s requirements, with the goal of obtaining permanent residence or second passports for the whole family.
