Owen Small has over 15 years’ experience in the migration advice industry starting in June 1999 with the Department of Immigration and Multicultural Affairs (now Department of Immigration and Border Protection, DIBP) at the Australian High Commission in London. He then honed the skills developed at the Department working in private practice with Overseas Emigration Visas in Edinburgh, Scotland as a Director of the firm for 8 years.
Owen then returned to Australia with his wife and set up Overseas Emigration Visas Australia for 1 year before being employed as Manager of the migration team at Ferguson Cannon Lawyers for 4 ½ years. Owen is currently a Managing Director of Small World Migration.
Owen specialises in Skilled, Employer Sponsored, Family, Student and Business Visas. Throughout his career, Owen has assisted over 5,000 applicants migrate to Australia. Due to his own experience of moving from the UK back to the Sunshine Coast and going through the process of sponsoring his British wife, he understands the frustrating highs and lows of the visa process.
With Owens extensive knowledge of Australian migration law and the visa process, along with his first-hand experience, he is very well placed to assist you with a new life down under. Since 2002, Owen is a registered migration agent with the Office of the Migration Agents Registration Authority (OMARA) and a member of the Migration Institute of Australia (MMIA).
